Abstract

Loading and discharge activities are one of the activities that support the smooth flow of goods in a port. In loading and discharge activities, loading and discharge companies that carry out loading and discharge activities are required to play a role in smoothing the flow of goods. The smooth flow of goods can be achieved if in practice it is supported by skilled human resources and the use of adequate loading and discharge equipment. If one of these things is not fulfilled, it will cause a smooth flow of goods. As for the consequences of the non-smooth flow of goods, among others, the resulting losses can reduce the income of the company so that the wages received by employees and laborers are also reduced. If this happens for a long time, it will result in a decrease in employee performance, so that loading and discharge activities do not run smoothly. This writing uses qualitative methods. By means of an unstructured interview with the KM chief officer. Tirta Samudra XXVIII by simply asking the important points of the problems that the respondents wanted to explore, such as the unloading process, and the sales process of space that need planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring smoothly so as not to hinder loading and discharge activities.
