Abstract
Ship safety which is the object of this research is safety on ships owned by PT. Jemla Ferry Ketapang Branch. PT. Jemla Ferry is a shipping company that provides ferry transportation services that transport passengers, vehicles and goods. This research aims to determine the influence of ship seaworthiness, ship crew, shipping safety equipment, and the role of the harbor master on ship safety. The population in this study were all employees of PT. Jemla Ferry Ketapang Branch and the sample for this study was 45 respondents. The sampling technique is nonprobability sampling with the sample type, namely incidental sampling. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, the data is analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) version 25. The results of the research by partially testing the t-test hypothesis show that The seaworthiness of ships, crew members, shipping safety equipment, and the role of the harbormaster have a positive and significant effect on ship safety. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the research model of the multiple linear regression equation is: Y = 6.407 + 0.292X1 + 0.652X2 + 0.538X3 + 0.355X4 + µ. From the regression equation it can be seen that the most dominant variable influencing ship safety is the ship crew variable with a regression coefficient of 0.652. And the R2 (R Square) test obtained a result of 0.708, which means that Ship Safety at PT. Jemla Ferry Ketapang Branch can be influenced by ship seaworthiness factors, ship crew, shipping safety equipment and the role of the harbormaster, which is 70.8% and other influencing factors are 20.2%.
