Abstract
PT. Dharma Lautan Utama is a national cruise ship company that provides sea transportation and ferry services for the market segment of passenger cargo, vehicles and goods with a fairly broad marketing field. One of PT. Dharma Lautan Utama is to provide services covering the archipelago. In order to report company goals and improve service to customers. PT. Dharma Lautan Utama Tanjung Perak Branch tries to provide better service to service users. The purpose of this research is to study and understand the procedures for handling the arrival and departure of passenger ships (ro-ro) owned by PT. Dharma Lautan Utama Tanjung Perak Surabaya Branch. The preparation of this paper uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach and the methods used in data collection are field observation methods, interview methods, and literature study methods. The results obtained from writing this paper are that the procedure for managing the arrival and departure of passenger ships (ro-ro) belonging to PT. Dharma Lautan Utama Branch of Tanjung Perak Surabaya, in this case the shipping company must be able to handle the ships it manages when it stops at the port. Includes all the documents needed from the initial arrival of the ship to the departure of the ship from the port because ship documents can also make it easier for ships to enter and exit the port area. It can be concluded from the results of the study that PT Dharma Lautan Utama has provided good service by realizing it through the accuracy and speed of time and good communication in the procedures for arriving and departing ships.
