Abstract
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a tool that has the ability to protect a person in work whose function is to isolate the workforce from hazards in the workplace (Depnaker, 2006). The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on workers while working is an effort to avoid the risk of hazards from the workplace. The application of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to these workers is highly recommended, even though this is the last precaution. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is also very important for use by workers in companies to reduce the level of work accidents and occupational diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimization of the use of personal protective equipment on welding workers in the warship division of PT. PAL Indonesia. This type of writing is a descriptive work done in PT. PAL Indonesia to workers who are employed especially in the battleship division by interviews to three employees of 1) Anggun Dherti V. Y as inspector K3, 2) Novan Anggar S as field coordinator and 3) Desi as Sie public relations. Interviews revealed optimum use of self-protection (APD) workers. Laser welding workers that keeping health and safety on the job is one of the key to completing a task or job. Keywords: Optimization, Personal Protective Equipment, Welding, Danger Risk.
