Abstract
The occurrence of ship accidents such as sinking, burning which are related to the safety and security of sea transportation so that it is necessary to implement an increase in shipping safety. The Directorate General of Sea Transportation has issued policies in preventing ship accidents such as making shipping notices regarding increasing shipping safety supervision for passenger ships. The purpose of this study was to find out shipping safety procedures according to Safety Ministry, for ships sailing in the supervision area of the Juwana class III port management unit office, to carry out procedures according to SOLAS, to find out the policies of the port management unit office in carrying out supervision related to shipping safety and to know the socialization of shipping safety policies on ships sailing in the Juwana class III port supervision area. The method used is qualitative data research. The results of this study indicate that shipping safety procedures according to Safety Ministry are travel between countries where the convention applies and foreign ports, with passengers referring to ships carrying a minimum of twelve passengers. In accordance with these regulations, safety certificates are exclusively issued to Passenger Ships, and their validity is limited to a duration of 12 months. In accordance with supervision related to safety protocols implemented by fishing vessels around the Class III port of Juwana, as well as ship measurement facilities at Port III Juwana. Shipping safety regulations are overseen by international agencies responsible for dealing with matters relating to the preservation of life, protection of marine assets and the promotion of environmental sustainability. Juwana Port Class III annually implements a shipping safety system, which aims to increase understanding of safety principles and regulations relating to fundamental requirements for maritime navigation.
