Abstract
Abstract In carrying out loading and unloading activities PT. Maritime vehicle sources must carry out activities correctly and on time so that all activities run smoothly. Unloading is an activity that must be done with great care. In order for this activity to run smoothly, the company must prepare all the equipment needed when unloading and check all the equipment needed so that the unloading process is more effective and efficient. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out the method or strategy for optimizing loading and unloading so that the company can continue to be trusted in the loading and unloading process, to find out the causes of the unloading process that is not optimal. In optimizing the cargo unloading process, the company must strive to provide the best service to the owner so that the owner is satisfied with the company's performance. The satisfaction referred to is, among other things, the process of unloading cargo is not too wordy, the process of docking the ship is in accordance with the procedure, preparing the necessary documents for unloading cargo, the fees given are in accordance with the agreed rates and do not add other costs, the loading and unloading process runs smoothly, does not give or exaggerate offers to ship owners with the intention of attracting them, evidence of service quality can be in the form of physical facilities such as; ship berthing process, good unloading process, service to the ship and the appearance of the service provider, tools and equipment used to provide services, final report on the unloading process and ship safety during the process taking place at the port.
