Abstract

Abstract Abstract Safety is the most important aspect in sea transportation, where safety is the main factor to create a comfortable, safe transportation with a controlled situation. Ship certificate is a document that must be completed as a condition or permit in operating the ship, besides that the ship must also meet further requirements both administratively and physically so that the ship can sail to its destination. This writing aims to explain the role of KSOP Class I Tanjung Emas whether KSOP Class I Tanjung Emas has fulfilled its duties and functions in accordance with laws and regulations, problems in carrying out their duties and functions, as well as actions taken by KSOP Class I Tanjung Emas on problems in maritime safety. The Office of the Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) Class I Tanjung Emas Semarang as an agency with the main tasks and functions of carrying out the formulation and implementation of policies, formulating norms, standards, procedures and criteria, providing technical guidance and supervision. as well as evaluation and reporting in the field of marine, maritime and maritime environmental protection. The Office of the Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) Class I Tanjung Emas Semarang in terms of carrying out ship seaworthiness inspections must be more careful in carrying out inspection methods, even though there are many problems faced.
