Abstract
This research is motivated by the problems that often occur on Jalan Brawijaya, Jember Regency, namely smooth traffic. Where according to data from the Jember Regency Transportation Service the average daily traffic volume on that road is 2605 in 2022 while the road capacity in 2022 is 2775 where if calculated the level of road service is included in the level of road service E (0,85- 1,00) which means that the traffic volume is at an unstable flow capacity, and the traffic flow sometimes stops. This study aims to determine the effect of road capacity, infrastructure, driver behavior, and side friction control partially on the smooth traffic that occurs on Jalan Brawijaya, Jember Regency. The population in this study were users of Jalan Brawijaya, Jember Regency and the sample for this study was 100 respondents. The sampling technique is nonprobability sampling with the type of sampling that is incidental sampling. Data analysis used in this study was descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. The results of the research by testing the partial t-test hypothesis showed that road capacity, infrastructure, driver behavior, and control of side barriers have a positive and significant effect on smooth traffic. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the research model of the multiple linear regression equation is Y = -1.592 + 0.304X1 + 0.265X2 + 0.234X3 + 0.315X4 + µ. From the regression equation, it can be seen that the most dominant variable affecting the smoothness of traffic is the side friction control variable with a regression coefficient of 0,315. And the R2 test obtained a result of 0,607 or 60,7%, which means that the smoothness of traffic is influenced by road capacity variables, infrastructure, driver behavior, and control of side barriers, namely 60,7% and other factors that affect smooth traffic on Jalan Brawijaya Jember Regency by 39,3% or 0,393.
