Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by the number of motorized vehicles which have increased every year. The increasing number of these vehicles can also increase the number of accidents which is quite high. Many factors can cause road accidents, including bad road conditions. This study aims to determine whether road conditions, driving behavior, and driving skills can affect driving safety on Abdulrahman Saleh Street, Semarang City, Central Java. The sample in this study amounted to 100 respondents with a nonprobability sampling technique with a type of sampling that is incidental sampling. Data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) version 25. The research by testing the hypothesis t-test partially shows that road conditions, driving behavior, and driving skills have a positive and significant effect on driving safety. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the research model of the multiple linear regression equation is Y = 0.861 + 0.315.X1 + 0.243.X2 + 0.305.X3 + µ. The results of the multiple linear regression equation show that there is a partial positive effect between road conditions on driving safety (t count = 4.732 > table = 1.98472), driving behavior on driving safety (t count = 3.419 > t table 1.98472), and driving skills on driving safety (t count = 5.227 > t table = 1.98472).
