Abstract
In preventing fires as one of the causes of accidents on board, ships must be equipped with fire fighting systems and equipment that are able to deal with fire problems effectively. Emergency fire pumps are used to deal with onboard conditions which are installed separately from the engine room and the installation is connected to the main installation. But on the KNP. 376 KSOP KHUSUS BATAM, the pump's performance is not running effectively, so you have to do drills. The aim is to find out the operating procedures of the fire pump, to know the maintenance of the fire pump, to know the factors that cause disturbances to the performance of the fire pump. In this paper, the writer uses data collection techniques, namely data collection techniques using direct observation to the object of writing, namely by carrying out prada (land practice) for 4 months in KNP. 376 , so that the data collected is in accordance with the reality that existed at the time of writing. With the writing of this paper, the author hopes that the reader can understand and understand how to operate and maintain an fire pump on a ship. Keywords : Operation, Damage, Maintenance.
