Abstract
Abstract Operational activities for all ship needs starting from the initial arrival of the ship, when it is in the port until the time of its departure. In carrying out the operational process of passenger ships, sometimes there are problems, namely in the preparation process carried out before the arrival of the ship and before the departure of the ship, in practice many obstacles are found in the form of expired ship documents, arrival and departure of ships that are not appropriate. The purpose of this paper is to find out the operation of passenger ships by PT. Pelni (Persero) Semarang Branch. The method used in this paper is descriptive which was carried out for six months prada. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Primary data was collected by observing the object of research and direct interviews at the object of research while secondary data was obtained from books, journals and literature. Based on the results of the author's discussion, the operation of passenger ships carried out by PT. Pelni (Persero) Semarang Branch at Tanjung Emas port. Broadly speaking, the operation of passenger ships starts before the ship arrives, when the ship arrives (Clearance in) from preparation to implementation, before the ship departs (Clearance out) from preparation to implementation, when the ship departs, making reports after the ship departs, and documents needed when preparing for the arrival and departure of ships as well as the obstacles that are often encountered Keywords : Operational, preparation, Vessel, Documents, Port
