Abstract
The flow of loading and unloading through Batam's Batu Ampar Port is increasing, this can be seen from the growth of loading and unloading containers from year to year. The current condition of loading and unloading is inseparable from the improvement of services at Batu Ampar Batam Port through the provision of supporting facilities and infrastructure. With the growth in the flow of loading and unloading activities which is quite high, the condition of the existing facilities, infrastructure and operating systems needs to be reviewed whether the operation is optimal or performance is still possible, or it is time to add infrastructure and facilities to anticipate transportation demand in the future. which will come. The smooth loading and unloading aims to improve good service in the activities and services of container loading and unloading processes according to operational standards. There are several factors that contribute to smooth loading and unloading such as conditions related to loading and unloading equipment, the performance of human resources, and the environment. In this study, four research variables will be analyzed, namely loading and unloading equipment, human resources, and anticipation of natural factors as independent variables and the smoothness of loading and unloading as the dependent variable. The purpose of this study was to analyze whether the positive influence was good individually between the independent variables of loading and unloading equipment, human resources, anticipation of natural factors on the dependent variable, namely the smoothness of loading and unloading. In this study, the object taken is the loading and unloading service users at Batu Ampar Harbor, Batam. Data sources include primary data and secondary data. The sample in this study were 110 respondents. The data analysis technique is a multiple linear regression technique. Based on the results of research and multiple analysis, the equation is: Y= -0.932 + 0.201.X1 + 0.343.X2 + 0.248.X3 + µ The results of the multiple regression study show that the most dominant variable affecting the smooth loading and unloading is the human resource variable with a regression coefficient of 0.343. With the Adjusted R 2 test, the result is 0.453 or 45.3%. Simultaneously the variables of loading and unloading equipment, human resources, and natural conditions have a 54.7% effect on the smooth loading and unloading and 54.7% are influenced by research variables that were not detected in this study.
