Abstract
Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler is an important auxiliary engine on a ship where the operation of the main engine is greatly influenced by the good performance of Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler. Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler which functions to cool the lubricating oil after the lubricating oil has lubricated the main engine components. Damage to the Lubrication Oil (LO) Cooler will affect the capacity of the lubricating oil which will decrease the performance of the main engine. The methods used for data collection are observation, interview, and data collection methods. The results of the author's research, it can be concluded that the cause of the decrease in the performance of Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler is 1) PMS is not on time. 2) the pipe in the Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler is clogged. 3) the thermometer is not accurate. 4) lack of knowledge and skills. 5) Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler's seawater pipe is leaking. The impacts are 1) the function of the Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler decreases. 2) lubricating oil cooling is not optimal. 3) main engine temperature increases and engine speed increases. 4) seawater pressure decreases. Efforts to prevent it are 1) increasing the discipline of the engine crew. 2) bribe Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler. 3) thermometer replacement. 4) Monitor the temperature and pressure of the Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler. 5) provide direction, education and training on main engine maintenance and repair. 6) replacement of leaking pipes. Damage to leaking pipes, Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler plates and gaskets is the cause of Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler damage. How to repair and replace the gasket on the Lubrication Oil (LO) Cooler plate, repair the Lubrication Oil (LO) Cooler plate and repair leaky pipes. The main objectives of this Lubrication Oil (L.O) Cooler auxiliary aircraft are: To maintain the temperature of the lubricating oil and to protect the lubrication of components in the main engine.
