Abstract
The main topic of discussion in the writing of this paper is regarding the effectiveness of procedures for handling soybean meal imports. There are several background problems, namely regarding dry bulk importprocedures, regarding the completeness of the documents needed to import soybean meal goods, related parties, the handling of soybean meal goods by PT. Esa Zona Express, and the use of the Fifo method in transit warehouses. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out an in-depth description of the role of PT Esa Zona Express, especially in the field of PPJK which concerns the service of cargo soybean meal imports. For the data used by the author using primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through direct interviews with field operations and branch heads. While secondary data obtained through books, archives, and other sources. The data collection method used is observation which sees directly the activities at the port. The result of the discussion of this paper is the effectiveness of the handling of Argentine Soyabean Meal import activities by PT Esa Zona Express to be able to unload Soyabean Meal cargo from MV. Alexandra, until it enters the Nusa Prima Logistik Warehouse owned by PT Terminal Teluk Lamong Surabaya or Outer Warehouse of Berka! Abba owned by PT Esa Zona Express Surabaya and there are steps that must be done. The mostfrequent obstacles during cargo delivery include factors such as damage to the carrier, unfavorableweather. So that in the process of unloading Soyabean Meal cargo, it is necessary to pay attention to checking the tools and facilities used for cargo delivery on a regular basis so that during the cargo delivery process there are no obstacles that hinder the cargo unloading process.
