Abstract

Optimization of Crane Maintenance to Facilitate Loading and Unloading of Beacon Buoys at KN. Kumba Carrying out maintenance of loading and unloading equipment is an important thing very important in loading and unloading operations at the wharf. unloading equipment maintenance on the loading and unloading process above boat. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect maintenance of loading and unloading equipment for the loading and unloading process on board the ship optimizing the work of the crane machine. While the type of research method used by the author in conveying the problem is descriptive qualitative, for describe and describe the object under study. Data collection technique used is by way of interviews, literature and observation. This research was conducted when the author carried out land practice at KN ship. Kumba for 4 months. From the research results it is known that there is a lack of discipline in treatment and recording in the provision of grease on the crane and the lack of dexterity of the crew in cleaning the remaining falling grease that resulted less than optimal crane work. Therefore, if there is a grease spill, it must be done quickly cleaned so that it is not slippery and also requires a maintenance record book periodically so that the loading and unloading equipment components are not quickly damaged/worn out.
