Abstract
The supervisory role of the coastguard office and port authority class I Tanjung Emas Semarang Shipping security and safety are very important for all aspects of world shipping. Aspects of shipping safety that are important to pay attention to include attitudes and values that are owned by the community regarding fulfilling sailing safety and security requirements. This research is designed to find out how the supervisory roles of the coastguard office and Port Authority offices differ in the field of cruise ship security and safety. how the efforts of the coastguard office and port authority class I Tanjung Emas Semarang influence improving cruise ship safety and shipping. Based on the use of qualitative research methods, it can be concluded that: 1. The responsibilities of the coastguard office and port authority class I Tanjung Emas Semarang are their responsibility and involve many lives, so they must be properly carried out according to standard operating procedures. 2. Efforts to supervise a harbor master in the context of arranging facilities and infrastructure for the operation of sea transportation are very important. Harbor masters who manage their work must also ensure that companies, ship owners, crew ships, and other users of sea transportation services are aware of the laws and regulations that apply in the field of cruise shipping, which are generally still low. 3. Accuracy in careful supervision of ship inspection and testing is carried out in accordance with applicable provisions and procedures. If during the inspection it is found that a ship does not meet the seaworthiness requirements, witnesses must be given without issuing the related letter, document, or certificate. This is intended to give a deterrent effect to ship owners or companies operating ships so that they always prioritize safety in shipping.
