Abstract
Marine Inspector is a person or official who carries out the process of inspecting and testing an object that has authority and has competence, which is related to everything related to the sea and inspection of ships, that in the inspection and checking of ships at The Office of II Class Harbormaster and Port Authority Tanjungpinang there are factors that cause obstacles to ship inspection. This research is based on problems obtained directly from the research site by means of data collection, direct observation, interviews conducted by the author by asking the marine inspector and literature studies taken from journals related to the analysis of ship inspection by the marine inspector at The Office of II Class Harbormaster and Port Authority Tanjungpinang. The results showed that in the inspection and checking of ships at The Office of II Class Harbormaster and Port Authority Tanjungpinang there were obstacles that resulted in a less than optimal Marine Inspector, including the lack of resource management Marine Inspector who was an expert in his field, lack of checking ship documents, and lack of time utilization and standard scheduling. Efforts to overcome this can minimize the constraints that exist in the Marine Inspector's activities further enhance the role of the Marine Inspector, carrying out more thorough document checks and carrying out timely scheduling and inspections.
