Abstract

In line with the development of science and technology, the level of human needs has also increased, one of which is from the transportation sector, especially sea transportation where ships that sail at sea will not always run smoothly, but one day will experience an obstacle, both from outside factors and from the ship itself So that in the ship must be provided with tools to anticipate if there are things that are not wanted, one of which is a light fire extinguisher (APAR). APAR is a variant of portable fire extinguishers where its presence is not something strange because we must often find light fire extinguishers in every building or building. Therefore, safety in sailing itself is an effort made to reduce the risk of accidents.In this case, the author has a goal first, namely knowing the steps for use, optimizing the use, and maintenance of fire extinguishers. With data collection methods both by observation, interview, through print media, the internet, documentation, and literature can be taken accurate discussions.
