Abstract
Juwana Port is a port that serves inter-island activities, which is located on the Silugonggo River with a distance of approximately 5 miles from the estuary to the port. The existence of the Port of Juwana has an important role in boosting the regional economy and assisting government programs in reducing unemployment by visiting ships entering the port and carrying out loading and unloading activities between islands which can increase the country's foreign exchange. The purpose of this observation is to find out the sources and causes of marine pollution around Juwana Port, in order to be able to find out procedures and countermeasures for marine pollution around Juwana Port and to find out the role Office of the Class III Juwana Port Administration Unit in an effort to maintain and minimize sea pollution around Juwana Port. The observation method used by the author is the observation method (observation), interview method and documentation method. The results of this observation indicate that the sources and causes of sea pollution around Juwana Port are activities around Juwana Port which can cause pollution. Pollution is caused by ship activities and port activities. This pollution has an impact on human life and the environment around Juwana Port. The procedure for handling and preventing marine pollution due to oil is to use Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP) equipment and control of pollution due to waste is carried out by cleaning it manually. Prevention of pollution from the operation of ships and equipment used to tackle marine pollution caused by oil and garbage as well as the role Office of the Class III Juwana Port Administration Unit in maintaining and minimizing marine pollution by carrying out activities, policies and providing equipment in order to maintain and minimize the occurrence of pollution around Juwan Port.
