Abstract
PT. BuanaLintasLautanTbk.is a shipping company engaged in ship agency, the research aims to analyze the causes of ship service delays. Ship agency activities begin with the appointment of the agency by the ship owner to the agent at the port of destination of the ship, if the agency designation has been obtained, all activities required by the ship will be handled by the designated agent, including reporting the arrival of the ship to the syahbandar office and local port authority, shifting licensing , taking documents to the ship, and activities needed while the ship is at the port, until the ship gets a permit to sail. The results showed that in agency services, there were usually delays caused by weather factors, inadequate vessel conditions, and damage to equipment at the dock. The intention of the government and private companies is very important in the implementation of agency activities, such as granting permits by government agencies and loading and unloading by the loading and unloading parties.
