Abstract
The main discussion in writing this paper is "Efforts to Improve Rescuer Capability in the National Search and Rescue Agency Semarang". The SAR Office is a Technical Implementing Unit in the field of search and rescue (search and rescue) which is under and responsible to the Head of the National SAR Agency. The SAR office has the task of carrying out SAR alerts, SAR training, SAR potential development, SAR initial action and operations, as well as the deployment and control of SAR potential in the context of SAR operations which include efforts and activities to search for, help, and save human lives lost or feared to be lost or face danger in an aviation voyage disaster, or other disasters and calamities. Rescuer, namely conducting search and rescue which includes preparation, SAR preparedness, SAR operations, as well as evaluation and reports. Rescuers are required not only to be able to do it, but also to be able to do it with proven expertise. The result of the discussion of this paper is to know the process of selecting a rescuer, the skills that must be possessed by a rescuer, the activities carried out to improve the rescuer's ability. As for the search for help in mountains and forests, rescuers go through stages to save victims, such as the fencing stage, the introduction stage, the tracking stage and the evacuation stage. To improve the quality of rescuers, the SAR itself should carry out more routine trainings that already exist, and add to the schedule approximately 1 month 4 times.
