Abstract
The skills and knowledge of safety equipment must be owned by the crew. But in reality there are still crew members who do not have sufficient knowledge and skills regarding the safety equipment. The purpose of writing in this paper is to find out whether the skills and knowledge of the Ship's Fruit to safety equipment to deal with emergencies need to be improved as well as any efforts to increase the knowledge and skills of the Ship's Crew to safety equipment to deal with emergencies.The research method used by the author in delivering the problem is a qualitative descriptive method, to describe and describe the object under study. In this thesis research, the author uses three kinds of data analysis methods which will be discussed, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Efforts to improve the skills and knowledge of the Ship's crew against the lifeboat safety equipment in the Vessel in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of safety equipment, by routinely carrying out safety exercises on board. And by conducting a film screening about safety (Safety Movie). Based on the problems and the results of the study, it can be concluded that the skills and knowledge of the ship's crew on lifeboat safety equipment in the face of an emergency in KN. SAR SADEWA 231 need to be improved. The crew of the ship is less skilled and understands about the safety of the, so it will run the risk of endangering the crew when the ship is in an emergency.
