Abstract
The subject matter in writing this paper is the importance Rescue Cranes in the effort to state ship SAR SADEWA 231 and the office of the serch and Realief Agency Semarang. The background to the problems in this paper, namely the Rescue Crane engine work system, operating factors, and maintenance systems. The purpose of writing this paper is to determine the cause of the damage, how to operate and maintain the Rescue Crane engine at KN. SAR SADEWA according to the applicable procedure. In the process of collecting data to support the contents of this paper, the author uses several methods. In terms of sources, the authors use primary and secondary data. While the author's data collection method uses the interview method, literature research, and observation. The results of the discussion of this paper are to find out about the causes of damage that can damage the Rescue Crane engine system, the stages of activating the engine before carrying out operations, and maintenance of the Rescue Crane engine which is carried out routinely according to the procedure. The conclusion from the making of this paper is that the main factors that cause damage to the Rescue Crane engine come from the lack of skilled crew members in maintaining the engine system, how the maintenance is carried out according to planning and procedure, and knowledge of how to operate the Rescue Crane engine which is justified by the basics of supporting theory accompanied by the application of work safety.
