Abstract
Traffic accidents are one of the problems that almost occur throughout the world that require serious handling considering the losses they cause, if the problem of road accidents is not considered properly, it is feared that there will be an increase in the number of traffic accidents from year to year, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable. With a population of all users of the Jalan Raya Srengat section and a sample of 100 respondents was taken. With non-probability sampling technique, incidental sampling, data collection using questionnaires, data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis technique including validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, and hypothesis testing. Based on this analysis, the following regression equation was obtained: Y= 1.676 + 0.264 X1 + 0.325X2 + 0.225X3 + 0.219X4 + . Hypothesis testing using the t test showed that the three independent variables, namely the concentration of the driver (X1), vehicle condition (X2), environmental factors (X3), and road characteristics (X4) that were studied proved to have a positive and significant effect on the dependent variable, namely the traffic accident factor. In the coefficient of determination test (R Square) the Adjust R square value of 0.529 means that 52.9% of the variation in the dependent variable of the traffic accident factor can be explained by the independent variables of the driver's concentration, vehicle condition, environmental factors and road characteristics. While the remaining 47.1% is explained by other reasons outside the variables studied. Keywords: factors causing accidents
