Abstract

In this study, four research variables were analyzed on safety equipment, public perception and shipboarding as independent variables that affect the dependent variable, namely passenger safety. Formulation of the problem, research objectives and hypotheses in this study is to analyze the positive and significant influence individually between the independent variables, namely safety equipment, public perception and ship's sea level on the dependent variable, namely passenger safety. In this study, the object taken was a tourist boat passenger in the Malahayu Reservoir, Brebes Regency. Data sources include primary and secondary data. The sample in this study were 90 respondents who were passengers on tourist boats in the Malahayu reservoir, Brebes Regency. The data analysis technique is multiple linear regression technique and with statistical tools SPSS 22.0, based on the results of research and data analysis, the regression equation is generated: Y = 2,358 + 0,374.X1 + 0,381.X2 + 0,445.X3 + μ The results of the multiple linear regression equation show that there is a positive and partially significant effect between safety equipment on passenger safety (t count = 2,034 > t table = 1,98729), public perception of passenger safety (t count = 2,695 > t table = 1,98729) and seaworthiness of ships on passenger safety (t count = 2,302 > t table = 1,98729) while the coefficient of determination gets an R square value of 0.485, thus 48.5% of passenger safety is explained by these 3 variables, while the remaining 51,5% is the influence of other variables thatare not included in this study. Based on the analysis carried out, it was concluded that safety equipment is in the first place of the three variables that affect the safety of tourist boat passengers in the Malahayu reservoir, Brebes Regency, then from testing the hypothesis which states that it is suspected that safety equipment, public perception and ship safety have an effect. The positive and significant impact on passenger safety in the Malahayu Reservoir in Brebes Regency has been proven true. Keywords : Safety Equipment, Public Perceptions and Ship's Oceans to Passenger Safety.
