Abstract

With the development of transportation, especially land, it will further facilitate the mobility of people from one area to another, but on the other hand it has an impact on the emergence of various traffic transportation problems. Congestion is a situation where the traffic flow exceeds the capacity of the road which results in the free speed of the road section approaching or exceeding 0 km/hour, causing a queue of vehicles (MKJI, 1997). Congestion will increase if the flow of vehicles is large so that the vehicles are close to each other. Demak Regency is also experiencing these problems, especially those that have occurred in traffic jams in the city center and on the outskirts of the city. This study aims to determine the effect of traffic volume, crossroads, and economic growth on traffic congestion at the intersection of four Dempet markets, Demak Regency. The data processing technique uses the SPSS Version 25 application. The population in this study is road users who pass through the Dempet market and a sample of 100 respondents. With the technique of Nonprobability Sampling, Incidental Sampling. Data collection using a questionnaire and the method of analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis. From the results of this study it can be seen that the multiple linear equation model: Y = 0.252 + 0.176X1 + 0.194X2 + 0.579X3 + indicates that there is a positive and significant effect partially on traffic volume (X1), intersection (X2), and economic growth ( X3) against traffic jams (Y). The influence of the independent variables in this study the correlation coefficient of determination (adjuster R2) of = 0.616, which means that 62.9% of the effect of traffic congestion variables can be explained by variables of traffic volume, intersections, and economic growth. While the remaining 37.3% is explained by other reasons outside the variables studied. Keywords: Traffic Volume, Intersections, Economic Growth, Traffic Congestion.
