Abstract
Traffic congestion are accidental road events involving vehicles with or without other road users, resulting in losses for road users. Increas in congestion is something that is undesirable by various parties, given a person time is very valuable that is difficult to measure by anything. This is very alarming if strategic steps are not taken to improve smoothness, safety and legal compliance with traffic in the community. Therefore, there needs to be an analysis to look for any factors that affect traffic congestion. This study aims to analyze the influence of independent variables namely road narrowing, human factor, traffic volume on the dependent variable, namely traffic congestion on the Pantura Sultan Fattah road in Demak City. Data sources include primary data and secondary data. The sample in this study were 99 respondents who were motorized vehicle users who passed the Pantura Sultan Fattah road in Demak City. The analysis technique in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis. The formulation of regression in this study is as follows: Y= 0,740 + 0,351.X1 + 0,442.X2 + 0,128.X3 + µ The results of multiple regression studies indicate that there is a partially positive effect on road narrowing on traffic congestion (tcount 3.741 > t table 1.98525), human factor on traffic congestion (tcount 3.934 > t table 1.98525) and traffic volume on traffic congestion (tcount 1.370 < table 1.98472). The influence of the three research variables is quite strong with the correlation value of adjusted R2 = 0.567. Keywords: human error, vehicle condition, road condition.
