Abstract
In loading and unloading activities, safety is needed at work. Work safety is an effort or activity to create a safe work environment and prevent all forms of accidents. Based on the author's experience, there are many violations committed by TKBM at work, starting from the factors that affect the safety of TKBM workers, what is needed in the safety of TKBM workers and what optimization steps are taken for the safety of TKBM workers at the Special Port of PLTU Rembang. This research is based on theories that explain the titles raised related to labor safety such as Law No. 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower, Law No. 17 of 2008 concerning Shipping, and Regulation of Manpower and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia NO. PER.08/MEN/VII/2010 concerning personal protective equipment. Accompanied by the framework that underlies this research. The research method of this paper is qualitative. Sources of data are taken from primary and secondary data. Observation, interviews and documentation are data collection techniques used to obtain data validity techniques. The results of the paper conclude that the application of labor safety during the unloading process found many obstacles such as: factors of workplace conditions, actions, and mental atmosphere and the limited work safety equipment the difference between procurement and damage and the lack of awareness of TKBM workers on the arrangement and placement of goods after unloading activities fit.
