Abstract
Oily Water Separator (OWS) is an auxiliary machinery on board. OWS is used to separate two elements that are not mutually soluble due to differences in density (density). The background of the writing of this paper is that there are frequent disturbances in OWS. This is because the planned maintenance is not carried out according to the procedure set by the manufacturer. The purpose of writing this paper is to determine the disturbances that often occur in OWS. Maintenance and repair of OWS and non-progress of planned maintenance on OWS. So that problems can be identified and diagnosed so that treatment can be done at OWS. The author uses descriptive writing methods to obtain primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained by the author through direct observation at OWS at MT. SETELA and through interviews with the ship's engineer. Secondary data is obtained through a ship particular, manual book, maintenance management book and company data. Based on the data that the author has obtained. The disturbance that often occurs in OWS is that the oil level sensor does not work properly. Other disturbances are the high pressure separator tank due to dirty coalesce filter and lack of air pressure in the three way valve. OWS aircraft maintenance and repair includes: maintenance of the Oil Sensor Level. This functions as a detecting tool for oil content. Care for the filter (Coalesce) in the OWS tank.
