Abstract
Security and safety efforts must be carried out in all places, especially at Tanjung Wangi Harbor Banyuwangi including work stations with various types of hazards that cause PT Adhiguna Putera must implement work security and safety measures. The purpose of this research is to protect employees/work, as well as to give them confidence in the continuity of their work and work environment to feel safe and comfortable, so that port service users realize how important it is to comply with the rules to improve security and safety at work in ports and the importance of compliance. regulations related to work safety and security on the loading and unloading process in the port environment. In this study, the author uses a qualitative method that uses data collection techniques, observation, in- depth interviews and documentation, so that an accurate discussion of issues can be taken about the effect of work security and safety on loading and unloading activities at the port. The researcher shows that the safety and security at the Tanjung Wangi port, Banyuwangi, which is not optimal, is under the authority of PT Adhiguna Putera because human resources in carrying out activities at the Tanjung Wangi port of Banyuwangi and the work security and safety system in the protection equipment owned by loading and unloading workers are very minimal and workers do not coordinate with the responsible party at Tanjung Wangi Port Banyuwangi to provide protective equipment and lack of knowledge of workers about the importance of using personal protective equipment. Additional human resources are needed to implement a policy and coordination is needed between the parties responsible for the loading and unloading process on the ship, employees and PT Adhiguna Putera as the person in charge of work security and safety so that loading and unloading activities at Tanjung Wangi Port, Banyuwangi, can run as expected.
