Abstract
Lifeboat/lifeboat is one of the safety tools that are on board and serves as a means to save themselves for the crew if the ship will sink, run aground and burn. Not all safety equipment on board can work and be well maintained. On Saturday, August 20, 2021, when Machinist 4 was on Saturday weekly test, the Lifeboat engine could not stop the engine as a result Lifeboat and liferaft was still operating and could only be shut down by closing the fuel valve from the tank. The purpose of this study was to find out the factors that caused less optimal lifeboat care in the KN. PRAJAPATI, to find out the effect of poor lifeboat and lifraft maintenance on the crew in the KN. PRAJAPATI and to find out the efforts made so that Lifeboat and liferaft can work optimally in the KN. PRAJAPATI. This paper uses the approach of Hazard Analysis and Operability (Hazop) Studies and Urgency, Seriousnes, Growth (USG) methods. Hazop method is used in analyzing the hazards and risks contained in a system. The Hazop method is a method of identifying hazards that is systematically rigorous and structured to identify various problems that interfere with the process and risks contained in an equipment that can pose a risk of harm to humans or facilities in the system. The USG method is a tool for prioritizing problems by determining the level of urgency with the highest score. The results of the study show that the causes of less optimal lifeboat care in the KN. PRAJAPATI is a lack of spare parts, the implementation of Plan Maintenance System (PMS) that are not in accordance with the provisions, the lack of responsibility of the engineer for lifeboat and liferaft maintenance and poor weather conditions. Effect of unfavorable lifeboat and liferaft maintenance on crew in the KN. PRAJAPATI is able to endanger the safety of the ship's crew, making the condition as a engineer decrease so that the career to develop in the company becomes difficult and the maintenance process becomes neglected. Efforts are being made so that Lifeboat can work optimally in the KN. PRAJAPATI is to apply PMS in accordance with the provisions or guidelines, give strict sanctions to the Engineer and Head Of Enggine Room (KKM), and record the number of spare parts according to the conditions on the ship and make a request for spare parts to the owner or company.
