Abstract

The importance of generators to meet the needs of electrical energy on KN ships. KUMBA Generator is an electric machine that converts mechanical energy into electrical power. The formulation of the problem in this study is that there is damage to the rotor coil which causes the generator dynamo to often heat up and there is an electrical disturbance that does not come out of the generator so that the generator cannot conduct electricity. The problem that often occurs in generators is that the dynamo generator is often hot which can affect the performance of the generator and the voltage is not output to the generator so that it cannot flow electricity with perfect results. The goal to be achieved in writing this paper is to overcome the problem of the generator, namely by replacing and maintaining the components of the generator, checking the components of the generator, to overcome problems with the rotating diode in the exciter, replacing the diode that has been damaged. can affect the size of the voltage on the generator. In the generator system, heat often occurs and there is no electric voltage, so repairs are made by replacing the copper rotor and doing a post-rotor replacement test. The results of this study indicate that by carrying out maintenance on the rotor by cleaning and balancing weight on the rotor and checking that the generator rotor components do not experience overheating and the generator dynamo voltage is out.
