Abstract

The main discussion in this paper is about how the actual process of retrieving empty containers is. In the process of taking empty containers, the party who does it is EMKL/PPJK. Initially the EMKL/PPJK after receiving the DO letter issued by the shipping party from the exporter, then the EMKL/PPJK will go to the container depot for payment for container orders and payment for container seals. After payment, EMKL/PPJK will receive a seal and also a loading letter containing the type of container size and specifications. then the letter is given to the field officer at the depot to find a suitable container as stated in the loading letter. In the next stage, the EMKL/PPJK and also the depot will check the feasibility of the container to be used to load goods. After the container is declared fit for loading, the container depot will provide an outgoing EIR to EMKL/PPJK and inform that the container is in good condition and suitable for loading export goods. Furthermore, EMKL/PPJK ordered trucking to transport empty containers out of the container depot area and to the exporter's warehouse to carry out the stuffing process.
