Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the role of PT. Pelyaran Inti International in the agency sector to handle ship arrivals and departures. The role of the agency is carried out to improve service quality, minimize obstacles, provide fast and appropriate service for the process of activities and ship departures (clearance in and clearance out). This research is a qualitative descriptive study, the research location is at PT Pelayaran Inti Internasional Branch Semarang, Indonesia. Research time in August-November 2022. Data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The triangulation of findings was carried out on data sources from observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the services provided by PT Pelayaran Inti Internasional were quite good, but were still not optimal because the process was still using a manual system, it took a long time to process the arrival and departure of ships, as well as the working hours of the port agency which could affect the ship's arrival and departure. the process of arrival and departure of ships so that it hampers the process of ship arrival and departure activities.
