Abstract
The transformer is an electrical device that is included in the classification of static electric machines. Transformator functions to distribute power / electric power from high voltage to low voltage and vice versa. Transformers are widely used, both in the field of electric power and electronics. The use of a transformer in the electric power system allows the selection of an appropriate and economical voltage for each need. Maintenance of electrical equipment is a series of actions or activities to maintain the condition of the equipment. The stress is the quotient between the tensile force F experienced by the wire and the wire cross section A. Stress is not like a force, not a vector quantity because it cannot provide a certain direction. Based on the background of the problem in the transformer, problems can be formulated, including the occurrence of imperfect maintenance and causing the transformer to be damaged. The purpose of this paper is to determine the occurrence of imperfect maintenance and faults in the transformer system. Therefore, the authors conducted interview observations and data documentation during practice at PT. Yala Samudera Abadi. In this paper it can be concluded that the causes of incomplete maintenance on the transformer include leakage of the transformator oil and cause damage to the transformer. And it is advisable to always carry out routine checks and maintenance on the transformer. Keyword : Transformator, Maintenance, Voltage
