Abstract

In line with the implementation of development in Indonesia, the main target of which is in the field of economic development, trade activities are one of the sectors of economic development, their role is always growing and developing, to facilitate the flow of goods and services to support these trade activities. PT. Teluk Lamong Terminal is a port engaged in loading and unloading services for containers and dry bulk.The purpose of this paper is to determine the process of loading and unloading containers carried out by PT. Teluk Lamong Terminal Surabaya, supporting equipment used in the loading and unloading process of containers, related agencies in the loading and unloading process, as well as advantages and obstacles in the implementation of loading and unloading containers. The method used in writing this paper uses data on the object of observation, as well as a collection of documents and data related to container loading and unloading activities. The results of the observation are that the implementation of container loading and unloading activities is in accordance with the container loading and unloading work instructions that have been set by PT. Lamong Bay Terminal Surabaya. Where the results of these observations are in accordance with the problems that the authors found such as data handling and the emergence of obstacles during these activities. In carrying out container loading and unloading activities, it is supported by loading and unloading equipment as service facilities or basic tools to support container loading and unloading work.
