Abstract
NORMALIZATION OF GOVERNOR PERFORMANCE TO SUPPORT AUXLIARY ENGINE OPERATIONS IN MV. PREMIUM BAHARI Optimizing the performance of the governor to support the auxiliary engine on the ship. The final project, with rotational stability using a governor that will work when the engine is over rotation when the ship experiences a shock that raises the rear propeller propeller, that's when the governor works to stabilize the engine speed, the working principle of the governor is to regulate the intake of fuel when the engine is over. rotation or low rotation, by utilizing the components in the governor through a balanced process / balance. The result of sufficient fuel supply to the auxiliary engine for stabilizes the engine speed which is connected to the camshaft rotation and disconnect to fuel reg which regulates fuel supply from injection pump to the injector, this can run normally when the governor is in a state normal and the performance is stable. To keep the governor's performance stable, it is necessary to hold it maintenance and regular checks according to working hours and seeing the condition and performance, that's why we practiced sailing on board the MV. PREMIUM BAHARI often experiences problems in maintaining the governor, especially in terms of governor spare parts which are difficult to find, and often when the governor experiences trouble, the solution is to replace a new set of governors or recondition them which is still good.
