Abstract
The development of maritime technology in Indonesia began to meet a point of progress, not least for the field of sea transportation, namely shipping. Therefore, there are currently many studies conducted in the shipping world. The development under study was carried out in many fields on the ship. One off then is, the technology of propulsion, systems, and ship maneuvering in this study will to cus on propeller discussion. By using a propeller fix, power in all propeller load conditions may not be fully utilized. This problem can be overcome by using a propeller whose leaves can be controlled (controlled), called the Controllable Pitch Propeller or commonly known by the abbreviation CPP. The purpose of this paper is to determine the damage that occurs in the Controllable pitch propeller on KM. Panorama nusantara and how to repair and maintain Control Pitch propeller. It is in order that the shipping process runs well and safely In collecting data in this paper the author uses the method of observation, interviews and analysis of documents on the KM ship. Panorama Nusantara. The results of this study as an insight enhancer about the control pitch propeller in order to know early if there is damage to the propeller control shaft due to a leak in the seal stern tube so that correct repairs can be done. As for the causes of damage to the control propeller pitch are Leaks in the oil seal stern tube, Lack of lubrication on the control pitch propeller.
