Abstract

Indonesia as one of the largest maritime countries in the world has a very high activity in the territorial waters. The role of sea transportation is very important for social, economic, government, defense and security life. There are several background problems that the writer must solve, namely the way the port office and port authority class I Tanjung Balai Karimun working area of Tanjung Batu Kundur will supervise the ship or the ship's obstacles when it wants to sail that must be resolved. The Harbormaster Office and the Port Authority have the task of carrying out ship supervision, while the purpose of writing this paper is to find out how to carry out ship supervision activities starting from the related documents that must be prepared and the obstacles faced by field officers so that the ship in check there is no problem to continue the voyage, if there is a discovery when checking on a ship then the officer does not allow the ship to sail before the ship has met the sailing requirements or permission from the officer. and interviews where the author obtained data through a question and answer session and went directly to the field. The results of the discussion of this paper are for the implementation of ship supervision by the harbor office and class I port authority Tanjung Balai Karimun, the working area of Ta visit the Kundur.
