Abstract

Traffic congestion in the city of Semarang is generally caused by the increasing volume of vehicles every year which is not matched by increasing road capacity, as well as various side obstacles such as pedestrians, illegal parking, trading activities, vehicles stopping on the side of the road, etc. With good road planning, it can provide a better smooth flow of traffic, thereby minimizing the occurrence of traffic jams. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the factors of roads, traffic volume, and side barriers that affect the occurrence of traffic jams on the Letjen road section. Suprapto Semarang City, with a sample of this study as many as 100 respondents. The sampling technique is non-probability sampling with incidental sampling. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis. With the help of the SPSS V.25 program, the regression formulation in this study is as follows: Y = -0,286 +0,211X1+0,203X2+0,582X3+µ The results of multiple linear regression research show that there is a partial positive effect of road factors on traffic congestion t count (2,940) > t table (1.98472), traffic volume factor on traffic congestion t count (2,838) > t table (1.98472 ), side barriers to traffic congestion t count (7,168) > t table (1.98472). The influence of the three research variables is very strong with the correlation coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square = 0.628) which means 62,8%, the variable coefficient of road factors, traffic volume factors, side barriers factors affect traffic congestion, while the rest is 37,2% is influenced by variables outside this study. Keywords : Road Section, Traffic Volume, Side Barriers, Traffic Congestion
