Abstract
Shipping safety is very important and occupies a central position in all aspects of the shipping world. Aspects attached to shipping safety include the characteristics of attitudes, values, and activities regarding the fulfillment of safety and security requirements concerning transportation in waters and ports. Neglect of shipping safety tends to increase economic and environmental costs such as the role of production, medical costs, pollution and inefficient use of energy. Safety is an integral part of the management of shipping companies in general to support better working conditions on board. This study aims to determine the effect of the role of porters, ship's seaworthiness and ISM-Code partially and simultaneously on ship safety in Tegal Port with a sample of 100 respondents. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with the type of sampling that is simple random sampling. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS). Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the research model of the multiple linear regression equation is: Y= 0.473 + 0.200.X1 + 0.474.X2 + 0.257.X3 + . From the regression equation, it can be seen that the most dominant variable affecting ship safety is the ship's seaworthiness variable with a regression coefficient of 0.474. And the R2 (R Square) test obtained results of 0.619 or 61.9%, which means that the safety of ships in Tegal Port is influenced by the variables of the porter's role, ship's seaworthiness, and the Ism-Coder of the road which is 61.9% and other factors that affect safety. ships at the Port of Tegal by 61.9% or 0.619 Keywords: Port Authority's Role, Ship's Seaworthiness, ISM-Code
