Abstract
Transportation is the movement of people from one place to another with or without the use of facilities. along with the times marked by population growth, and increasingly sophisticated technology resulted in transportation also developing due to the needs of each person or individual. The increase in the number of transportation is a characteristic of a developing country. Every developing country has a problem, namely Traffic Congestion. Indonesia is a developing country so it does not escape from traffic jams. Formulation of the problem, research objectives and hypotheses in this study is to analyze whether there is a positive influence either partially or individually and between the independent variables namely Road Capacity, Traffic Volume, Side Barriers and Economic Growth on the dependent variable, namely Traffic Congestion. In this study, the objects taken were all motorized vehicle drivers who passed the D.I Panjaitan road, Tanjungpinang City. The sample in this study was 100 respondents. The data analysis technique is Multiple Linear Regression Technique. Based on the results of research and multiple analysis, the following equations are generated: Y = 1.676 + 0.264.X1 + 0.325.X2 + 0.225.X3 + 0.219.X4 + μ From the regression equation, it can be seen that the most dominant variable affecting the increase in the number of traffic jams is the economic growth variable with a regression coefficient of 0.335. And the R² (R Square) test obtained results of 0.619 or 61.9% which means that traffic congestion on the D.I Panjaitan road is influenced by road capacity variables, traffic volume, side barriers, economic growth which is 61.9% and factors other factors that affect traffic jams on the D.I Panjaitan road by 38.1% or 0.381.
