Abstract
Sea water pollution caused by oil spills often occur at sea. This is caused by explosion as offshore oil rigs, tanker accidents, and loading and unloading operations on tankers. The oil spill is one type of pollution that effect is large in the long term. Oil spills at sea are becaused pollution which leads to damage biological resources and destruction of underwater ecosystems. In this papers. The author determines the formulation of the problem of impact of the spill on the vessel and on the sea. How does oil spill response on board. Then from these two things, the authors also added How to improve the skills of the crew in handle of oil spill. Not optimal handling of pollution by oil spills, because by a lack of understanding of the duties of each crew, the handling of pollution caused by oil spills to be slow and uncoordinated. This study used a qualitative approach method of observation and use documents and data relating to the prevention and treatment of pollution caused by oil spills in the vessel MT. Red Dynasty. Then found from the findings that the handling of pollution caused by oil spills in the vessel MT. Red Dynasty is not optimal. Based on the results of this study can be concluded that efforts to implement against oil spills on board is still lacking and responsibilities, and knowledge about prevention, still do not quite understand their respective duties when dealing with oil spills.
