Abstract
Along with the development of an increasingly modern era and accompanied by rapidly advancing world economic growth, the need for fuel oil is increasing, with this the most needed means of transportation is sea transportation in the form of ships. One of them is tankers, tankers loaded with product oil (finished oil) are very vulnerable to fire hazards, one of the contributing factors is the human error factor. The purpose of this observation is to find out the cause of the fire on the MT ship. Jagleela and fire management aboard the MT. Jagleela, as well as knowing the obstacles and solutions to prevent fires from happening again like on the MT ship. Jagleela. The method used in this paper uses a qualitative method that produces descriptive data in the form of written words from people and observed behavior. Observations will be made when doing the Screen Practice on MT Jagleela. In this case the author collects data in the form of an approach to the object through observation. Direct interviews with subjects and using documents and data related to ship fires. The results of this paper the author knows how to handle fires on ships and knows solutions to prevent fires on ships. Keywords: Cause, Handling, Fire, Barriers.
