Abstract
This research analyze effect of communication system, supervision, seaworthiness and safety equipment of shipping in port Tanjung Balai Karimun. This research explain the factors that affect saffety of shipping. Those factors are communication system, supervision, seaworthiness and safety equipment. The data used in this research is primary data that obtained from result of the deployment of questioner which are filled by crew ship and harbourmaster at port Tanjung Balai Karimun. The object of this research is crew ship and harbourmaster at port Tanjung Balai Karimun. The population in this research is crew ship and harbourmaster at port Tanjung Balai Karimun and the sampling use accidental sampling that amounted to 100 respondents. To solve problems in this research is used regression analysis. The result of regression analysis and t test that the variable is positive and significant of communication system (X.1) to the safety of shipping (Y), supervision (X.2) is positive and significant of safety of shipping (Y), seaworthiness (X.3) is positive and significant of safety of shipping (Y), safety equipment (X.4) is positive and significant of safety of shipping (Y). Coefficient of determination result (R2 = 0.497) that means 49.7%, the coefficient of the variable communication system, supervision, seaworthiness and safety equipment effect to safety of shipping with value 49.7% while the rest (100% - 49.7% = 50,3%) influenced other variable outside research.
