Abstract

The cargo crane is an auxiliary aircraft on the deck. This equipment can be called heavy equipment that is useful for loading and unloading. And this equipment can be interpreted as a tool that can be used for loading and unloading work. In order to simplify and shorten the time for loading and unloading from ships. Therefore, the cargo crane must be operated in accordance with the procedure. Also this equipment needs maintenance, especially components that are prone to damage. The purpose of this observation is to find out how to operate. As well as how to maintain and the factors that cause damage to cargo cranes on board. One of the methods used in writing this paper is by observation. In addition, this paper also uses interviews. And to complement the data, literature study is also used by the author in compiling this paper. From the observations made by the author, it is found that KM. GG Sejati has carried out the loading and unloading process using ship cranes optimally. And to find out how to operate, maintain and repair. Another result is to find out about the factors that cause damage to machinery of ship cargo cranes. Loading and unloading activities using a ship crane can be carried out efficiently. The results of the discussion of this paper can be concluded, that the operation of cargo cranes is carried out in accordance with the procedure. And with the maintenance done with a cargo crane it can work well. Maintenance and repair also aims to avoid damage and system failure of the cargo crane on board.
