Abstract
HANSHIN 1800PS diesel engine is a machine used as the main engine of the ship. The purpose of this research is done because at the time of diesel engine Brand HANSHIN 1800PS operated, with a vibration that is quite fast. The method undertaken in this study is to perform disassembly on power generation elements and measure the mass of each element required for calculation. So the damage to the crank pin bearing is caused by the presence of dirt in the form of carbon burning that comes into the lubricant charter. From the results of research indicates that there has been wear and tear on the crank pin bearing, which causes the occurrence of vibration. Need to investigate the cause of the damage so that it can be prevented so avoid the same problem . Keywords: Diesel engine, lubrication, wear and tear
