Abstract
Off-dock is an activity carried out at the port or dock when a ship is about to leave the port or dock with instructions given from the navigation platform with signals given to the bridge and the port station can be understood by the duty officer. Tugboat is a ship that is used to maneuver/move, mainly to pull or push other ships, the high seas or through rivers or canals. The purpose of this paper is to determine the role of TB. KID 1 is in the process of taking off and leaning on the special dumai rolling terminal. Writing this scientific paper the author makes observations using qualitative data types and data sources (primary data and secondary data). As well as field research methods and literature study. The results of the paper show that it has been carried out optimally so that the role of TB, KID 1 in the off-dock process at the Pelintung Dumai Special Terminal which is used for loading and unloading activities of crude palm oil (crude oil) and some of its derivative products is carried out properly and optimally.
