Abstract
The Class III Batang Port Operational Unit Office as one of the Technical Implementing Units of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation has the obligation to carry out shipping safety tasks and functions, including carrying out supervision and inspection of ships operating in the waters of Batang Port. What is the process of carrying out ship inspection supervision, the safety equipment that must be in place and obstacles in the implementation of shipworthiness supervision at the port of Batang. The purpose of this paper is to determine the process of ship inspection, safety equipment prepared and used, to find out the obstacles in carrying out the supervision and inspection of ships at the port of Batang. The methods used in the literature include observation, interviews. Based on the results of observations, it can be concluded that the implementation of shipworthiness supervision at the port has requirements.The ship owner / agent fulfills the provisions or regulations for conducting sea voyages, the ship must submit a request for portworthiness inspection, safety officers and ship crews are important to provide ready tools. used on board the ship during inspection and sailing time, increasing the number of officers and increasing the skills of supervisory officers, the work area of the road access to the port being fixed, increasing awareness and understanding of the crew, the importance of shipworthiness Keywords: KUPP, Supervision, Safety, and maritime affairs.
