Abstract

The battery or battery is an electric cell in which a reversible electrochemical process takes place with high efficiency. What is meant by the process of converting chemistry into electric power, and vice versa from electric power to chemical power. In this paper, how is the battery maintenance system, how is the battery charging system, and how to apply the battery in series and parallel. The data collection method used in this paper is battery maintenance at KN. KUMBA, namely by collecting data and observations. Data collection was obtained from interviews on board and from the office. Observations are carried out when going through the process of starting the generator engine. In the process of turning on, the battery is the main source. The conclusion of this paper is that the battery is a source of electric power that generates voltage in a way that converts chemical energy into electrical energy and has a maintenance system so that the battery lasts longer. The battery has 3 methods of charging and applying in series and parallel. In this case the battery must always be controlled the height of the battery and the battery terminal checked because it affects the battery's performance system.
